The group of people who left seemed to be an unlikely group considering the tone of the event — and not least, the number of people who claimed to have been assaulted or kicked out. The day before the group announced their move to the campus, The Root had posted an article about what they hoped to bring to the campus. The article had a story about a man walking downtown with friends. So many people were walking downtown and there were a couple of very confused looking protesters going on, I couldn't really tell if they were people at first, or people being escorted from the rally, but I knew that was probably a real possibility, she said. I walked around, which they seemed to be very peaceful, but had two signs on a table about to be held up. One said that they were a private group and that it's about civil rights issues. The other two said that's not true since we have no records of these events. It's unclear why many of these students did not show up.
